Horus, an 8 year old Dutch Shepherd, was born in the Czech Republic. Many people think he is a Belgian Malinos because of his coloring (he doesn’t have the brindle like many Dutch Shepherds, but the typical Mal fawn coloring).
He comes from a long line of working shepherds and came to the United States to train as a police canine. He has been an apprehension K9 for the Secret Service helping protect the president and first family for the past 6 years. He is 97 pounds of pure energy. He is one of the best performing working dogs the Secret Service has had and regularly outperforms other police/military dogs.
Horus’s personality is similar to many working dogs, high drive, high intensity, smart, stubborn, loves to work, team oriented, and wants to be with his handler (his male owner) all the time. At home he is a very good pet, loves to cuddle on the sofa, begs for food scraps, but always ready to fetch, play tug, or go for a hike. He is constantly processing his environment, his ears can go in so many different directions and his mind never shuts off.
