Meet Oblack – a 5 year old Swiss Shepherd. He was the kindest dog ever, extremely attentive to what the family was up to, and very quick to learn. He was truly a member of the family – a baby that everyone was a parent of – and although he weighed 40kg would sometimes act as if he were the size of a cat. In fact, his best friend was actually a cat, a black Norwegian Forest cat, that he loved. They would lick each other, sleep next to each other sometimes. The cat is still waiting on some evening by the entrance door, which she would do when he was out on walks.
He would hate seeing the family leave, and would be so overwhelmed when they came back, even if they were only gone for 10 minutes. He would greet them with screams of joy, taking their shoes, literally off their feet to make sure they would not leave again. He loved snow, absolutely obsessed with it, but he hated water because he fell in a pond (or maybe 10cm deep) when he was a baby, and seemed to never have recovered from it. He also absolutely loved mushrooms, so there is one hidden in his portrait – can you spot it?
