This portrait, originally drawn in pastel, is of Noorie which, in Urdu, means ‘shining light’. She’s so named because she’s a daughter of Ranthambore’s famous tigress Noor, which is another variant of the same word. Her official code number (as assigned by the park administrators) is T105. This portrait depicts Noorie as a subadult in 2017, and I have learned that she now has cubs of her own.
Thanks to awesome wildlife photographer and tiger specialist Santosh Saligram for the reference photo.
